Senior Site Reliability Engineer (sre)

The Team

We work best in small groups. It strengthens efficiency in achieving KPIs through easy communication, minimal process, and overall, a smoother workflow. You'll be working in the SRE team. 



Apart from your core team, you'll be interacting and collaborating with the product team. You'll get the chance to work alongside many other parts of the business.



The Role

- Monitoring and improving system availability and performance, both with direct improvements and by working with engineering teams to improve standards and tooling.



- Identifying, responding to, recording, and learning from incidents

- Implementing best SRE practices and developing SRE strategy

- Conducting tests for security, performance, and availability

- Working with the product team to help develop features and fix bugs - we find the best way to understand the product (& keep it running!) is to help build it.



The Candidate

- Experience as part of an SRE team before and wants to try their hand at leading from the front

- Minimum 3 years as an SRE, Cloud Engineer, DevOps Engineer, or any relevant experience. Preferably at a SaaS company, though this isn't mandatory.

- Familiarity developing Infrastructure as Code (CloudFormation, Terraform, etc.)

- Experience with a configuration management tool (preferably Ansible)

- Strong understanding of AWS and severless technologies

- Strong understanding of Linux systems

- You are able to independently 'Get It Done' and manage your time

- You are passionate about what you do, have a thirst for knowledge, show technical leadership, and challenge yourself and others to improve



Nice to haves:

- Familiarity with the Hashicorp toolchain (Terraform, packer, etc.)

- Our production database is PostgreSQL on Amazon RDS

- Our APi and backend is written in Ruby on Rails

- All our frontends are either React web or React Native
